Meet The Residents Tahoe: South Lake Tahoe’s Homegrown Live Band
There’s something special about a band that truly belongs to its community. Not just a group of musicians passing through, but people who live, breathe, and love the place they call home. That’s exactly who The Residents Tahoe are.
Born on the South Shore
Hailing from the South Shore of Lake Tahoe, The Residents Tahoe came together in 2020 with a simple but powerful belief — that there is more that connects us than divides us. In a world that often feels divided, these musicians found common ground the best way they knew how: through music.
The Sound
Don’t expect a one-trick pony. The Residents blend beloved classic rock anthems from the last several decades with heartfelt original songs written by the band members themselves. One moment you’re singing along to a song you’ve known your whole life. The next, you’re hearing something brand new that feels like it’s been part of your story forever.
Their originals are where the real magic lives. Songs like Freedom Ain’t Free — inspired by Tanner, the band’s marine drummer, who reminded the crowd on Memorial Day that the occasion isn’t about hot dogs and apple pie, but about honoring those who gave their lives for our freedom. Or Play That One Song — written by Resident Ted Kennedy after years of watching crowds shout at bands to play that one song and nobody ever taking the hint. So Ted wrote it himself. Classic.
More Than a Band
The Residents Tahoe share a two-fold commitment: rock your world and uplift their community. These aren’t just words. The band plays regular shows in and around South Lake Tahoe, CA and Stateline, NV, bringing live music and good energy to the people and venues that make the Tahoe area so special.
